Will I ever be able to hike in the mountains again? Or go kayaking? Or run a 5K?
Will I ever be able to enjoy being active again?
Is this pain going to last forever?
These are the types of questions that many of my clients ask me when we first begin to work together. But they’re also questions that I’ve had to ask myself.
Like many of my clients, I’ve spent a lot of time carefully and fearfully trying to avoid triggering the debilitating, chronic pain that had made a simple thing like grocery shopping feel like a grueling Olympic event for me.
My health journey led me through the full gamut of CT scans, X-rays, and MRIs. I consulted an orthopedist, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, and a massage therapist. While each had done their best to help me, I was unable to receive a clear diagnosis — or a solution. I was referred to a physiatrist for pain management. Not being satisfied with the idea of a life of simply managing pain symptoms, I made a deep commitment to do everything I could to get better and started on my journey to rebuild myself. During my recovery process, I studied the impact of repetitive stress injuries and learned how to recondition my body correctly, safely, and effectively.
I became a personal trainer and holistic health coach because I understand the frustration and uncertainty that comes with chronic pain. I want to use my experience and education to help others live lives free of pain and re-engage with the activities that bring them joy.
I am committed to providing the highest quality of service to my clients, whether I am performing their assessment, designing their program, or guiding them through an exercise. Wherever you might be right now in your health journey — however you might feel in your body — I hope you’ll join me on this path toward optimal health so that we can express to the world and in our lives the very best that we have to offer.
My Approach
I am proud to be a Licensed CHEK professional. The CHEK Institute provides fitness and healthcare professionals with training based on the key themes of Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology, Lifestyle Management, and Coaching, with a focus on detailed assessments and individualized plans. I integrate this approach into my own work. As a functional training and orthopedic specialist, my goal is to fully understand the needs of each individual that I work with and create a personalized, structured health program that will help them reach their goals. I address physical movement, pain management, and stress management.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to health and wellness, nor do I believe in “quick fixes.”

Best Personal Trainer
I have been so pleased with how much training with Jamie has helped me in my health and well-being. I started with Jamie when I was having a lot of knee-pain; she worked really thoughtfully and carefully with me to address this pain, and today the knee is in much, much better shape. Jamie is so supportive, encouraging, and clearly very, very knowledgeable about how to develop and implement an exercise plan that works.
